The left most connecting point broke apart.

Hi guys,

I accidentally broke one of the air intake connection points when I was changing the engine air filter. Is it necessary to fix it with some kind of super glue? Or it is fine to leave it there, since the remaining connection points are fine.

Thanks!

Will the screw come out?
I would try to fix it but, would not agonize over it. I would not expect any glue to fix it.

That is even hard to find in a parts yard , but maybe on eBay. I would definitely not worry about it, unless you get a code for unmetered air, but I don’t think you will

For best power and efficiency, it’s best to draw cooler intake air from inside the fender well, but it’s not imperative.

The “wooly worm” is notorious for becoming fragile with age.

PSA - when removing the air box for any reason, very carefully disconnect the woolly worm at the air box end. This is your best chance for avoiding damage to it.

You can find replacement wooly worms, and you can find plastic replacements. But I successfully put a disintegrating wooly worm back together with wood glue. I think maybe it was “Tightbond III.” Has held so far. Epoxy or even super glue, apply sparingly only at the seams (to preserve flexibility,) might work too.
