Gm parts

seen alot of posts about oil changes tune ups etc.. made me wonder is there anyone out there that uses only gm parts when working on the hhr i mean everything oilfilters, batteries, plugs wires etc.. my grandfather has a 67 vette he knew he wanted to keep original and it has never seen aftermarket parts for anything . i myself like to use gm parts as much as i can cause i know the parts fit and so far i havent had the issues i have with aftermarket

Kind of a give and take deal nowadays! Some of the GM parts fit and finish leave something to the imagination .....

The oem oil filter cartridge is AC Delco, I get mine from Advance Auto for $4.89 each. Or you can go to the Dealer & pay maybe 3X that for the same thing.. (see Pic) Check & be sure the top O-Ring (big one) is in the box.

I prefer to do my own stuff, then I know for sure I have it how I want it. And save $$$..

Dealers are kinda OK if you have no clue. But doing it yourself is the most rewarding imo..

PS: our motors have NO coil wires, they use Coil Packs that connect directly to each spark plug.
And the Plugs don't need changed for 100K

Air Filter can be checked, also cabin air filter in the glove box.

Going to an autozone for instance you can get OE plugs, and oil filter. Just recently you can also get OE fuel pumps for GM products. So on those items why pay 3x the price at the dealership.

All OE all the time for service parts, its just a rare thing to get them through the dealer, my local marks things up about 60%.
