So, I purchased a DA Polisher over the weekend and plan on giving Gregg a full polish and wax using the polisher. Is there anyone out there that does this to their HHR regularly already? How does the paint respond to the polish...is it considered a "hard" or a "soft" paint? I will be using the one of the lightest/least abrasive polishes possible; the Meguiars M09 Swirl Remover 2.0, coupled with there Ultimate Synthetic Liquid Wax afterwards. I am using a polishing pad for the polish and finishing pad for the wax, of course.

 

Once a year , I claybar then buff with Ultimate compound

Meguiar's : Ultimate Compound : Product

Then use the Ultimate Polish

Meguiar's : Ultimate Polish : Product

Then weekly Meguiars Spray detailer and Spray wax

 

Nice! My trouble is I have to be very careful with any type of compound on the vinyl( scratched a test spot with swirl remover 2.0) , but synthetic waxes are safe for it (I tested a spot on the bottom of the rear bumper and it gives the vinyl a deep shine). Gregg is a workhorse. Getting me around nearly 100 miles a day. He deserves a spa day!

 

Don't touch the vinyl stripes. It's very hard to get a uniform sheen on viynl
