HHR getting warm.

Hi all.
I know nothing about cars but love my little HHR.
I have been noticing that the coolant level gets high. It has gotten up to 200.
What temp is to high. The coolant dial on dash is at like 1/2 to 3/4 but not all the way.
I am going to call the garage. Does anyone know what could be wrong and how much it will cost?
Also my AC isn't working after my nephew put "freon" or whatever it needs in it.
Thanks for your help.
Al

200 degrees os OK. I wouldn't bother with a shop looking at it as I fear you'll pay for them to not find any problem.
He used a can to charge the AC?

Think how long you have owned the HHR, and how old the coolant might be , it has a life of 5 years service and should be drained and refilled accordingly.

Thumbs up Had it fixed.

Hi All.
Thanks for all the tips and such.
I had a mechanic look at it, and it was a fuse for the fan and a cable that wasn't working as well.
Only took 60 dollars to fix. he fixed my wheel bearing also.
So all in all, I only paid 300 for both.
There is a gentleman that comes to out work and does oilchanges and such. I work in a semi rural area and the man is a retired mechanic.
Thanks all I don't want to give up my little HHR. I love the car.
