Well I have to admit I have been using delta sonic car wash through our winter up here and have been very.l have been very happy with them.
The manager even walked me through the car wash at one point and said that Corvette are not able to to go through there car wash since they are too low.
Delta sonic washes do an awesome job of washing underneath and inside the wheels etc.
My question is has anyone driven an hhr ss through or am I going to be the first guinea pig I plan on hand washing this car after a couple runs through.weather is back in the thirty's here was in the 80,s a week ago.

Well since your LT didn't have any issues I'd think you'd be OK running the SS through, even though they sit a tad lower, the track is practically the same and the tires aren't "that" wide. And all HHR's are blessed with a "clean" underside with few things hanging down to get caught as exemplified by this unfortunate one on its side.

Ran it through no problems with the SS
they said 4" minimum and if there was an issue it would hit as I was going up on the track
I know some people do not like automatic car washes but when its 35 degrees out its a little hard to do it your self besides it seems like tons of water ends up going on the car to flush alot more out than a regualar wash which is important up our way we should hopefully be done with the salt until next season

 

Oh I remember the road salt from living in Buffalo and Erie, on a quiet night up your way, you can hear the cars rust.

 

Make sure they tape up your rear wiper real good, mine got ripped off going theough my local car wash.

 

I'd never take a car through the automated wash. Do it by hand...

 

I like to do mine by hand, but occasionally I'll run it though a touch-free auto wash between hand washes.
If I lived in an area where they salt roads, I'd run it through a lot more frequently, some place with a real good undercarriage
wash cycle.

 

I hand wash only, but there are folks who don't have that capability, like people in apartment complexes, or those in unfriendly climates who rely on car washes...you could debate the whole "how you wash your HHR thing" for days. The most important thing is getting it washed, keeping it waxed, and touching up paints chips, that'll make 'em last for years and years.

 

I wash my car at a car wash but then take it home for a hand wash. Doesn't get much better than to have done a good polish followed by wax. Or to bring out the mirror shine on your chrome rims and grill.

OP, if you got chrome rims get some polish and the mini-power ball.
