Jack Lifting Positions
Or, you could just open the manual. The jack points are identified by an arrow on the plastic skirting just behind the front wheels and just in front of the rear wheels, if you run your finger around that area you will find that the plastic is cut out to the EXACT shape of a jack head so that it fits on the Unibody ridge. Don't get all excited about damaging that particular ridge, since that's why it's there, just DO NOT put the jack pad on a flat Unibody surface.
The basic answer is, "if you jack it up high enough from either the front or the rear, the entire side will go up". But, notice Nacademus's Pics, there is the front "cradle" and the "pan". It is not constructed the way cars used to be! The engine is part of the "frame". And the "frame" only covers from the front door hinges forward.
I usually place jack stands like Nacademus shows. Floor jack at GM designated points with no adapters.

I'm pretty sure the OP knows how to jack up a car, the point of the thread was to find a position at the front of the car to get both wheels off the ground at once using a floor jack. There isn't one. Rear? Yes.... Front? nope.
I used the cross bar in the front..but then I have a low pro jack...its how I rotate all tires at the same time..I usually clean the wheels inside out during this. never had any problems on either SS or LS
Delta bodies are a confusing breed. Very few places under them look capable of being jacked upon to raise the vehicle. Many people have indented their floorpans, or rolled in the pinchwelds by jacking on it carelessly.
If it is so intuitive, why are there so many threads on numerous delta body message boards about the subject? It is better to ask someone than to start jacking on your car...
lol. Jacking on your car.

I avoid lifting on the axle. I had to do it once to adjust my e-brake at the calipers. Having two jack stands, one at either end with wood between the steel and stand platforms, should be relatively safe-which is what I did. No flexing, tweaking, or bowing.
