Mainenance - Dealership or Mechanic?

Ive have had my 2010 HHR LT for 3 weeks now. I bought it from an indepent used card dealership in AS IS condition.. It runs great..
I still want to have it checked out at either PepBoys or a chevy dealership one day very soon to determine what type of service will become necessary in the short run and long run as well.

The owners manual and service records were not available.

Im going to research any repair issues on my 0wn,, but I am NO mechanic.

I just am hoping to find a mechanic that is an HHR enthusiast in Orlando and get to know him/her very well... and have a relationship with them that will last longer than my first marriage. LOL

Thank you for any guidance at all that you may want to share.

We have owners manuals available on this site. They are "just for looking" or you can download a copy. I keep a copy on my computer for easy reference.

Here's the link: https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/gene...s-manual-3074/

Welcome to the site

You can take your vin number to a gm dealer and they can run a history. It will show all warranty work and where it was done it will also show the selling dealer.

All great bits of advice above. Nice to see an owner take a pro-active part in ownership.

Oh, and WELCOME to the site.

I hope you at least got a CarFax report. You can order one for yourself if not, just add .com.

I don't think much of either PepBoys or the dealership because of the prices mostly.

Thank you

Hello

Thanks to all the great advice . Ive got the owners manual downloaded.
Yesterday I went to a chevy dealership and requested a copy of the service record for my HHR VIN and was very pleased to learn that the prior owner had all service completed at a chevy dealership, with the final work being completed on May 15, 2015... two weeks before I purchased the car.

It's good to know that its been taken care of from the start.

Thanks again.

Dallas
