Need an exhaust system-- suggestions?

Yesterday I put another front wheel bearing and and was admiring how quiet the 2011 is. Today I heard a noise getting louder and louder. Its the exhaust . Haven't crawled under it yet but it might be closer to the engine that the rear bumper. It has a newer exhaust manifold on it. 2.2 engine, 214k on the ticker. Might as well replace everything except the cat. I like it quiet. I see Walker is a common brand. I dont need a different tone, just something similar to OEM sound wise. What do you recommend? Planning on having it done, I dont like exhaust work so much. thanks

I read the 2.4 system wakes up the 2.2 engine. But does it make it louder? thanks

No the Walker system doesn’t make more noise , just better breathing

Walker 56248 resonator pipe

Walker 21686 muffler

a few new swear words and a couple of clamps and you can change these in your driveway
with a jack and jack stands!
Have a close listen to the flex pipe area

I bet the flex pipe is cracked. A lot cheaper to repair than to replace the entire cat. The flex pipe is part of the downpipe which includes the cats. Like $100s cheaper.
While you are at it look through the oblong hole in the passenger side wheel house, if you don't see a bolt head easily accessible you need a new motor mount, the usual cause of the crack.

Motor mounts replaced 2 years ago. It's probably the flex pipe. The rest of the system won't last forever so might as well replace it if it looks bad. Thanks for the walker part numbers.

Just get under there and find the hole. Could be exhaust manifold, flex pipe, anywhere on the exhaust pipe (begins at a flange at the the downpipe/cat, includes the resonator, back and over the axle, ends at the muffler) but there's spot over the axle that likes to leak.

The Walker exhaust pipe Oldblue mentioned is designed for the 2.4 and has larger tubes and a longer resonator than the 2.2, but bolts right in. I was really happy with it, especially the low price. It's aluminized steel though, so don't expect it to last forever.

If the problem is the flex pipe, try to preserve the original cat (assuming it's still good) by welding in a new flex pioe instead of replacing the whole thing with an expensive inferior assembly.

Its hanging down and I can see it. The flex pipe is shot. The manifold was replaced a couple years ago. Gonna go with the Walker system. for sure.

With 215k on it, should I replace the converter also? I know they don't last forever.
which brand, the prices vary like crazy.
