New fuel pump different

07 2.4L

I am installing a new fuel pump. The one I bought was a
Spectra Premium SP6614M. It has the fuel connections 1 large and 3 small. Two are next to the large one. One has a in arrow and the other has an out arrow.

The old pump has 3 connection 1 large and 2 small. It does not have in arrow line.

The line lines up on the out arrow. Do I just ignore the other or plug it?

See image.

I check it on 3 or 4 websites and they all say this is the one. I guess I will call Spectra Premium tommorow and see what they say. I tried to blow through it and could not so it may be plugged.

According to CARID, it's the right part. However it sure doesn't look like it. Best to call the supplier and check with them. Even Summit Racing shows it as the right part.

The one on the side of the old one is the vent, the other end of the tube goes back to the top of the tank. I guess you are supposed to get an adapter from somewhere. I am assUmeing the small one on the end is the vent, see which connectors work.

Looks like this is the correct GM part # 19208967
MODULE KIT. Fuel Pump. Fuel Tank Meter/Pump. FUEL TANK & MOUNTING for 2007 Chevrolet HHR Hatchback. #19208967

Google search the part # should find several sources.

This may be another case where all the parts books are wrong on that spectra. I always go to the GM website, get the right part #, and then search for that. I once went straight to the auto parts store website and bought an oil filler cap. The original was vented, the aftermarket was not. Not good.

I do know that they changed the pin out on the electrical connector at some point.

I have heard of people replacing just the pump part. No direct experience.
