A new maintenance item that I will be inspecting

A few weeks ago my 08 hhr did some strange things when I started it up in -14 deg weather. The car made some clicking noise under the dash when cranking then my security light stayed on for that entire key cycle.
I passed it off as just one of those weird weather problems until yesterday when I started my car to go home from work and it happened again. This time it would not crank and my dash gauges and running lamps flashed rapidly. The first place I looked to investigate my problem was the battery connection at the under hood fuse box.
Sure enough the battery cable would move when I gave it a wiggle then my lights stopped flashing the clicking noise stopped and the car started right up.

So I will be checking and servicing this connection as I do my regular under hood service maintenance from now on.

Just passing on this experience so as it may help someone in the future.

Good tip Lucky.

I do recall some other members here that found this same loose connection.
As far as people posting about weird electrical problems, maybe our responses should start with: "Check the underhood battery cable connection 1st."

WOW Lucky,

That was a Hail Mary fix.

I am impressed .....

Thanks for passing the info along.

It's kinda the grown up version of the loose fuses ...

I checked the battery cable first because of what I have read on here over the years. This site is a great source of information. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut occasionally.
