Po301 misfire comes and goes

I have been getting a check engine light, had it scanned and it comes up
Po301 misfire. I do not detect it running badly at all. It usually happens
During start up warm up. The weird thing is the check engine light goes out sometimes less than 10 miles. Any thoughts???

Year ? engine? mileage ? A little hard to have any opinions without details.

I just had this problem with my 07 2.2. It seemed to always show up on cold start up.

Mine was also code p0301. I did compression test and all cyls were 195. I put in new plugs and move coil number one to cyl 4. Cleared the codes and it returned in a few days with code p0301.

Then I removed the injectors and swapped 1 and 4. I have also ran seafoam in the tank for two weeks.

So far the code has not returned after the injector swap over a month ago.

I don't know if it's the fact that I had the injectors out and cleaned the tips of them or if the seafoam helped clean carbon out of the valves but so far so good I guess. I don't like not knowing what the cause was.

Similar issue here with P0301 - after several occurrences that would clear after a bit - installed new plugs, swapped coils between 1 & 3 - came back once, so then did a full tank of Premium gas followed by about 600 miles of highway driving. Two tankfuls of regular since without issues. So far so good - but crossing my fingers on it.

That was the first time the car has had anything other than regular gas and did not notice any difference in power or smoothness at all.

i was going to move the coil to another cylinder to see if the misfire follows but
logically for the $ 50.00 i should just replace it and rule that out. injector would be next,
not sure how hard of a job that is. Thank you

Had the same issue too changed coils and compression check was ok .. Kept on putiing techron in the tank never had the issue over a year now .. Possible carbon built on the the valves maybe .. So go the cheap route first and see..

In cold weather fuel sometimes gels and can cause an issue most regular fuel does not have additives for the cold but most premium fuels do, so before you throw parts at it try the fuel first, it's not expensive and you need fuel anyways.
