Question Maintenance II Service - 80K Service 2010 Chevrolet HHR

Hello everyone, lately I've been getting service reminders for Maintenance II Service and 80K Mile Service from my Chevy dealer and was wanting to know if anyone could explain both of these services? I purchased my 2010 Chevrolet HHR there a couple years ago or so and take my HHR there for regular Oil changes, etc.

Currently my HHR has 79,582 miles and was due for an oil change at 79,543 miles.

All 4 tires are pretty much new, new front wiper blades, the cabin air filter was replaced at dealer some time back but not too long ago and I think they replaced the Air Filter some time back as well.

Open your Owner Manual and read it. The recommended service intervals are published.
The letters you are getting are solicitations for "optional services". They try to make you believe you need it. Take your Owner Manual in to the service department and ask them why they have different recommendations from the manufacturer.
Who you gonna trust, a salesman or the manufacturer?

Question 100,000 Mile Scheduled Maintenanc

Hey all, just got an email yesterday from the Chevy dealership where I purchased my 2010 Chevrolet HHR base model 2.2L and have it serviced and taken to for Oil Changes, etc and it's for the 100,000 Mile Scheduled Maintenance. Is it worth doing? I think the last time I was there, the service manager said this is what's involved in it:

Air Filter, r&r 2.2L 06/11 $31.37

Flush Automatic Trans & Replace Filter All $218.76

Spark Plugs, r&r 2.2L 07/11 $127.34

Total Labor $191.00
Total Parts $143.48
Total Misc. $19.10
Total Tax $23.87

Estimate Total $377.45

Question Major Repairs On My HHR Questions

Last time I had my 2010 Chevy HHR base model in at the dealership for an Oil Change, Front End Allignment and Resurfacing of the Front Rotors, they printed out a big list of recommended repairs, I was kind of shocked by this list and at this point with a little over 100,000 miles I'm wondering if I should just trade it in for a used like 2012 to 2014 Chevy Equinox AWD or FWD?:

Front Axle Shaft Oil Seal, r&r LS/LT 2010 A/T Both (Notes: Leaking, Right Side Worse) $327.14 *The service Manager recommended tending to this as soon as I could before the others below*

Rear shock absorbers/struts, r&r DELCO 06/11 (NOTES: WORN, LEAKING) $269.15

Front shock absorbers/struts (ADD Alignment) LS/LT 10/11 Complete Assy (NOTES: LEAKING. WORN, NOISE) $919.83

Front Stabilizer Bar Links, r&r ADVANTAGE LS/LT 09/10 300mm Both (NOTES: MAY BRAKE ON REMOVAL OF FRONT STRUTS) $182.15

MOUNT AND BALANCE 2 TIRES
FRONT TIRES WORN 3/32" UNEVEN WEAR, EXCESSIVE ON SHOLDERS, 215/55/16 GOODYEAR EAGLE SPORT ON REAR 5/32 AND 6/32 $46.97

You DO NOT have to pay a GM dealer to work on your HHR. They usually charge 2X the labor rate in your neighborhood.

Why did you have the rotors resurfaced and get an alignment? I will say it for the 1,000,000 time: the only adjustment that can be done is the toe, if it needs to be changed parts are worn out.

Have you also had the transmission fluid changed? If so, that's why the axle seals may be leaking. Are there puddles under the car, or just oily spots around the seals?

At 100,000 I would expect struts and shocks, just like every other car on the road.

Wow, do some shopping on the web, struts and shocks are easy to change out! $2,000.00 would get you all fixed up and a nice mini vacation!!

And sway bar end links can be a bit harder but still just four nuts!

Some eBay vendors even have deals and combos of front end parts!

Crazy prices. Either find a local shop and compare or learn to DIY.
