replacing sway bar links

??????? just do the zerks before installing the links. put a dab of grease on the zerks before installing.....and, use anti-seize on the pivot threads befor assembly, as well........

I don't understand. Sounds like you jacked one side up at a time, so there was a load on only one side. I hope that you did not actually succeed in bending the sway bar, which is what I think you mean by "tension bar" .

no effect what-so-ever on the 1 inch sway bar...........it withstands plenty of articulation with no distortion..............bar is and continues to function just fine..............

Finding this thread interesting. I have one of the first HHR's put out (purchased in October of 2005) and the sway bar links were replaced at less than 20,000 miles. I have to replace them now, but granted I have over 80,000 miles on it.
