While cleaning up my engine to track down my oil leak, I noticed a rubber plug on top of the transmission, very near the transmission fill cap, flush with the surface. It's a plug similar to what you see on a rear differential, made of rubber and just pulls out and pushes back in. What is this for? Just another opening to fill at?

Probably for tool access. Maybe a pic would help.

 

Factory assembly purposes, which we aren’t prevy to.

 

It's a manufacturers service port.
