Unhappy sec on dash info.

the SEC words came my info while I was driving lost power for a moment then got power back.drove home shut off car then restarted it .the SEC words and the traction control light went off. what is sec service mean and what is SEC. thanks in advance. len

Nothing that I know of comes up with the letters SEC.(there is a ESC for Electronic Stability Control )
Read your owners manual. There are numerous other abbreviated warnings that could appear.
Maybe you misread it and it was another warning.

Also. Stating the year and model of your HHR would help.

This could be the electric power steering motor over heating, but that shouldn't have cause a loss of power, how old is the battery Len, it could be low on voltage.
Check the usual ground wires, fuse block halves and relays and fuses, it could just be one of those issues.
Did you receive a letter from GM about the ESC motor?

EPS motor, ESC brakes.

Usual suspect is bad hub, if that is the ONLY indicator on.

no I did not receive a letter from GM. I would think it would come up at my chevy dealer were I get my oil changed.
