spark plugs and oil changes

Ive had my 06 2lt HHR for almost 5 years, I have always change my cars with Mobil1 at about 3000 miles and my plugs at about 20,000 miles it gives me piece of mind, on site some will go almost 90,000 miles before changing plugs and maybe 60,000 miles before changing oil, since I only drive about 5,000 miles per year Im changing oil 2 times a year with Mobil 1, I have 30,000 miles on my Ac-Delco plugs so I may changing them soon, I am 81 and retired so not a lot of $$$ but I sleep well knowing the HHR will go when I want drive so it only costs about $100.00 each year.

LOL - well, I had mine handy so was able to read it ok.

Actually Jay, why waste the money on the frequent plug changes? They will go 60,000 miles or more, before giving a hint of problems, as long as you are using the right plugs. And, no, I will not comment on the frequent oil changes!!

My 06 after 119,000 miles, has had the plugs changed twice, M1 oil change when the DIC says 20%. I'm currently at 31% and have 10,000 miles + on the last oil change.

You know you're "of a certain age" when you have several pairs of reading glasses. One pair for the living room, one for the dining room, one for the bedroom, one for the "Fortress of Solitude" aka the bathroom, and one pair in your shirt pocket for when you can't remember where the other ones got to.

Being that Jay is a man of both culture and learning, he'd only use Delco 41-103 Iridium plugs, and he'll change them when he dang well pleases.

Thanks Mike I am lucky I don't wear or need glasses as I had surgery and had lenses inserted so I have distance vision the lenses are about 1 quarter of an inch and took about 20 minutes for the surgery for one eye and a month later had the other eye done. yippee.
