I think they pretty much a standard size..up and down a notch or two..havve a couple pieces from work im going to try out..if they can hold thin composite panels together on a flying machine they surely will work on a plastic car..

SF- I agree with Woody, I know they are the same size on the OD, & length.

Just had both her & my inner fenders off.........Just a way better design on her Mopar...

I'll be looking at the local parts houses first.. But shouldn't cost much @ Mopar..

But right now, I'm dug into another project..

heyy this is really great info! i was already freaking it must be something loose in rear suspension, i have also several times repacked the spare compartment.
if my english understanding is correct; you mean one needs to lube the bracket on the tail gate? not the lock, not the latch, right?

thanks anyways this is great fix.

I lubed both the latch mechanism in the hatch/door and the proper spot in the latch catch on the rear deck.
The latch catch ( a U shaped piece of round metal ) should be lubed on the vertical area facing you as you are standing in the back of the HHR with the hatch open.
If still not sure what I mean, just slowly close the door/hatch and watch where the latch mechanism attaches. Lube that POINT.

Hey Sleeper,

Did you ever get around to installing some Mopar Plastic Fastners to replace all the loose ones??

Thumbs up

noticed that when i replaced new rear shocks, the trunk door "clunk" disappeared.
so it might be with the fact when rear suspension gets too loose; the trunk door jumps up and down more... so best fix to prevent the rear clunk is to replace the shocks!

I use well nuts from a Marine Store, 6-32 or 8-32 with a "fender "washer. No rust issues..
