Tie rod toe ajustment

Can anyone give input about how to ajust my right passenger outer tie rod toe after i install a new tie rod end? My front tires still have even wear but tie rod is shot. Thank you

Replacing both sides I hope. Unscrew the old tie rod counting the number of turns or threads that it takes for it to come off. Put the new one on with the same number of turns. It will be close but you'll still need the car put on an alignment rack to get the final adjustment.

Thanks George. Simple Math is all you need to get close.

On "experienced" car like an HHR, I would suggest doing both sides and aligning it once afterward, too.

Did just that. Put both tie rods on. Got it aligned 2 hours later. Even the front end shudder at takeoff from a light has stopped. Put new rear brake shoes and drums on the day before. So far, so good.

Make sure you readjust the rear brakes after a couple hundred miles. HHR's are very finicky when it comes to out of adjustment on the rears.
Those new shoes will center up , seat in and probably need a few clicks to snug them down.

You bet. I had planned on ajusting the shoes at about 150- 200 miles. Thank you.
