My HHR had many front brake problems with warped rotors causing vibration when I stopped. I had front brake job done on it and it was not long started doing it again. Recently I put brand new brakes and rotors on it problem solved should have done it in the first place. Now my front tie rods need replacing due to the shaking probably. Great.
My power steering light quits working and the warning light comes on once in a while. Shut off the car and restart it then it is fine.
What I think has happened is maybe there is a sensor in there that is damaged because of the looseness in the tie rods?
How hard is it to change the rack the tie rods are in?
Will that fix the power steering problem?

 

Also car is a 2008 HHR with 90,000 miles, it is a great car but I should not have drove it so long with damaged rotors.
