Anyone use this? I just looked at it in Walmart. Container says its full synthetic and meets standards for dexron VI.

 

 

Dexron VI is all you need to know, it is always synthetic. Get the brand you like.

It is the ONLY approved fluid for warranty repairs for all GM vehicles requiring Dexron or Dexron III.

 

Good to know because at 17.95 for a gallon its half the price of the carquest dexron VI at the auto parts store

 

Pretty sure that Carquest brand Dextron is half distilled water, too. LOL

When my dad visited he told me that Advance Auto sells Carquest parts, and he made a point to specifically tell me to NEVER buy any carquest brand parts, fluid, etc.

 

Advance bought Carquest 3-4 years ago. You see many cross branded products in the stores.

I seriously doubt that, haven't you heard? Oil and water do not mix 😄

 

Just changed transmission oil and filter for the first time at 164k. Old fluid was not terrible, virtually nothing on the magnet, but I am still glad that I did it. Used Valvoline full synthetic Dex rated ATF and OEM filter and gasket. Hard to tell, but I THINK that I can perceive smoother shifting. Not an enormous change, but it was not bad before, either. We drive gently over 98% paved roads, so I do not imagine ever having to do this job again.

 

Good to know. Thats almost how many miles are on mine and im getting ready to change it using the same fluid.
