I knew you could read voltage with the coolant but didn't know the value when it lost its properties. The guy uses a prism for coolant protection but a regular tester would be in the ballpark. Probably find the test strips on Ebay. He is a very good instructor on various car diagnosis problems.

The prism thingy tests the Specific gravity, same as the tube with little balls in it or the kind with gauge on it that can also be used for batteries. Ph test strips can be found in lots of places including the drugstore, HomeDepot etc. The Ph meters you can get at garden centers do the electronic potential thing he does with the multi meter.
