I just dropped my 09 HHR 2.2l auto with 130k miles off with my mechanic to work on next week. Based on my research and symptoms, I think I will have to replace the cylinder head. Assuming that's correct, what other maintenance items should I have taken care of?

I'm thinking probably the timing chain, possibly the water pump should be replaced. I plan to keep this car for a long time so I want to take care of any potential long term issues while the engine is opened up. Any common problems I should try to have taken care of at the same time? Thanks for any advice.

 

You pretty much have it! Have a close look at all the valves for kissing the Pistons and bent!
Use new head bolts and quality head gasket, maybe check the injectors for gunk and junk!
