On the oil, it turns out I forgot how to read, again. Quantity was 5, the number 8.8 was part of the item description.

Result: a new lower control arm under warranty. They said the tire that was on the left front is bad, so they swapped the fronts. Maybe in the summer I'll replace all the wheels and tires, we'll see.

Under warranty. Wow. Not normally an item that would be warranteed. If it was bent, it is usually caused by a road hazard and thus not covered.Sounds like the dealer is doing a "good will" gesture on your problem.
Now what about that elongated strut business? Please tell us the outcome with that.
