Where's my oil going?

so I've been losing my oil. I've had my car from new and 3 miles on the odometer. I've asked every mechanic at Chevy dealer what is going on and nobody knows why. I have tried regular oil and synthetic ( not at the same time) in the past and recently flushed my engine. I used synthetic blend about a month and a half ago. I have been checking levels weekly and I just drove out of town. When I returned I was bone dry. I have since topped off but I am afraid to use my own car... what is going on? Have you had the same problem?

It's either leaking it or burning it...

If those mechanics can't figure out which don't go back there.

Don't get me wrong. I have stopped going to them. I'm just trying to find a solution now. I tried this before and one person told me to unblock my dipstick whole. I have done almost everything possible short of dropping the pan and resealing. Although nothing leaks and my engine is fairly clean aside from a little road dust.

I had a similar experience with using synthetic after a few years use. That car did not hardly use a drop between oil changes, but changed to synthetic after maybe 60 or 80,000 miles. It gobbled up that synthetic using almost a litre within 2000 miles. I ended up going back to regular oil, but the engine afterwards still used a little oil, but nothing like it did on synthetic.

The only oil leak I ever had was years later from the oil pressure sending unit above the starter. And never any visible in the exhaust.

You might want to state the year and current mileage so people have a better idea of the situation.

and here is an article about synthetic in high mileage cars - http://www.msn.com/en-ca/autos/owner...id=mailsignout

My coolant is nice and clean still bright orange. And I have a 2.2. My mileage is up there but I have no knocking or smoke. My emissions have been great and I have replaced both my manifold air pressure sensor and mass air flow sensor. My manifold air pressure sensor did have Gunk on it when I replaced it. I chalked it up to over filling in the previous oil change. so far I have not had any issues as far as RPMs or loss of power. My mileage is running about 34 to 36 on the freeway and 24 to 26 on the streets. Soooooo yeah I've really been trying to take care of my baby. Lol. As long as she gets me to my VA appointments I'm gold and don't plan on getting rid of her.

There are 3 places it can go:
1. out the tailpipe
2. on the ground
3. into the coolant

Well, there is a fourth; somebody sneaks around pumping it out when you are not looking. It has happened.
