Everyone, when you call to reserve your rooms tell the people that you are in for the Mid-American HHR event, we do have a block of rooms held and at a special rate of $91.00 per night and all registered guests will get a free ticket to Riverview World for each nights stay...The interest is picking up so please call the Howard Johnson's Antiqua Bay to make your reservations...

I have posted the trophy list and classification guidelines for the Dells run Show and Shine. I will include a link to the document...please notify me if you have problems opening the document and I will e-mail it... The document is too big to just post here, so I hope that this is not too inconvenient...A new sponsor is in, an automotive designer who provided two incredible renderings for door prizes. I have just been talking to a very special artist and friend and he has assured me that an incredible rendering will be finished for the run...hint, this designer/artist is the last artist to work directly with Big Daddy Ed Roth...so this design should be off the hook !!!

Update...the trophies are ordered, the dash plaque picture will be taken July 21st at a show in Peoria, (in case you would like your HHR included come join us at this major show). The goodie bags are shaping up really well with three more submissions last week. Door prizes are still coming in as well. The top miniature golf establishment in the Dells is helping with our golf tournament and I am dealing with an amusement park for their involvement in our go cart grand prix...Want to ride the "ducks" or the jet boats we have discounts...shopping, how about an incredible outlet mall and discount coupons...local newspapers have agreed to carry a listing of our event and I am dealing with local radio tomorrow...hungry, yeah we got that covered, with pizza and a full menu at Moosejaw (they have the PT Cruisers with the Moose on top) a cookout Saturday evening at the end of the second cruise...Relaxation with old friends and new, sure why not hang at one of the hotel's two indoor pool areas and hot tubs or the one outdoors...Adventurous well we can do the extreme rides like bungee jumping, a slingshot, etc (visualize a couple of big guys like me and oldschool sitting in a seat an being shot skyward)...We are working with one of the vendors from this site who may come to the run if all of the legal matters can be ironed out and we can show enough interest in the run to make it worth his while...and this is a major vendor too !!! There is a great car wash close so you can wash off the road grime, plenty of restaurants, many willing to give discounts to groups, so we could make our numbers work for us, a casino just a few miles away just in case you want to gamble a bit and a ton of other Dells area attractions...so did you say that you were looking for a great get-away !!!

Long Distance;
There will be two Long Distance awards. The first will be for non-members of Mid-American HHRs and will be determined by Mapquest mileage from the individuals point of origin. If Mapquest is unavailable we will accept trip mileage from the odometer. The second award will be for members of Mid-American HHRs and will be a traveling trophy. The criteria will be the same as the non-members award. Club members cannot win the award two events in a row.
Best Display;
This award will be about creativity and will be an open class. The award will be judged by the Show and Shine entrants and will be judged on creativity, appearance, theme, etc.

Question about the "Major Modifications" criteria:
What if the wheels or paint cost more than $1000? Would they then become a "Radical Modification?"

Just curious...

"Better" you ask a very good question and we do have a bit of flexability, for instance if you roll in with a nice new set of wheels and tires and you paid $2000.00 for, but that is basically all you have, we could still allow you into the lesser class as you are under the $3000.00 total ceiling. The idea is to try to keep things as competitive and fun for the majority as possible, so we will apply common sense where ever possible. Thanks for asking...

Will the trophy classifications for each HHR be decided upon arrival?
