Deb To Kansas City July 8th

As many of you may know, I'll be at Kansas Motor Speedway for my AndrettiGordon Double ride which is scheduled for 9am on Sunday, July 8th. I should be arriving in the area some time late on Saturday and will be in town until some time on Sunday. Would be interested in meeting up with any HHR owners in the area...or along the way. Just let me know.

I'd like to meet up also. I know I'm a newer member here and never met any of you, but think it would be kind of fun.
My only problem is that my brother is getting married July 7th, so I may be tied up for the weekend.
If you need any info on where to stay, eat, or anything else just ask. I've lived here all my life.

That sounds great you guys. Would love to meet up with some of you from the midwest and do breakfast or lunch. Maybe you can even come by the track and watch me go around in a car doing 180mph.

Deb are you driving Smoke? If so clean the inside of the hood, and have a black marker and get signatures, then clear coat them. Have fun, you need it!

This is an awesome idea, but I don't think there will be too many signatures to be had. Not alot of big names are seen at these racing schools....especially Kansas. I think most everyone will be at Daytona for the Pepsi 400 that weekend.

Yep...Smoke is making the trip. First road trip since I got him and it will be 1200+ miles.

I love that idea Karen...I'll bring a permanent marker with me and everyone there can sign the underside of the hood. I've also got some satin clear coat in a spray can too...could maybe use that to preserve the sigs of fellow HHR owners. We could even do each others for that matter and put a date on it. Thanks for the great idea Karen.

This could definitely be a great photo op for those who are able to attend. The race is Saturday night...so you can bet I'll be watching that the night before. Maybe we could get Tony there on Sunday to sign the car as well.

I could also use some help finding a reasonably price hotel room for the night near the speedway too, so jayhawker...any help with that would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure what reasonably priced means since everyone is different, but I'm guessing $75 a night? Is that too much? Too little?
There are only 3 hotels, to my knowledge, that are "near" the speedway and two of them are ridiculously priced at over $175 per night.
If you want to get a bit farther(5 miles or so) the prices drop quite a bit, yet they are still easily accesible to highways to the speedway.

Glad to think of it Deb, just sorry I will still be in Tampa.
Glad to hear that Smoke is finally getting some miles under his tires!
