goin to Byron drag strip the 24th of this month!!
well i am takin the chevelle not the hhr, As i have not had time to enjoy it yet this year!!! i was invited to attend a chevelle meet at byron drag strip on the 24th guys from all over supposed to be there.
Its 20 bucks to get in and if you wanna run anything you drove there its all included in the 20 bucks!! HHR`s welcome!!!
I am hoppin to get in the mid to low 11`s but we will see!!!
This is a meeting of car people so even if you just wanna hang out its all good!!

Wow!! Byron dragway, now that's a name from the past. I haven't been there in almost 30 years. Did have a bit of luck there in the day, won a few and was runner-up at one of their old 64 car shows. The first time I raced there some local guy told me that the track just looks like it goes downhill, then I made a pass and told him, for my car to run that fast, the race track most certainly went downhill.
I remember reading years ago that the owner, Ron Leek, ran a foul of the local authorities over noise, or something, and had to close it down for a while. Wasn't it just an 1/8 mile track for a few years, or do they run it both ways? I drove by there on my way to WI a few years ago just to see if it had changed much. Neat facility, nice setting.

scale its gonna be a all day thing so i will be there most of the day!! probably leave around 5-6 pm
thanx for the replies, It as far back as i can remember has always been a 1/4 mile track and they even ran them 4 wide back in the late 60`s early 70`s!!
