New guy in St. Louis

Hey there all - Just wanted to drop in and say "Hi!" The wife and I just purchased a black 06 2LT, and love it so far. It's her primary driver, but she's letting me tinker a little. So far I've smoked the rear tails to straight black, put a black overlay on the rear bowtie, replaced the front grille with a horizontal Lund grille, and put on a stubby antenna. I'm working on the stereo as we speak, and new Zinik 18's will be on this week. Anyway, it's a start.

I look forward to meeting up with some of the other HHR's in St. Louis. I'm involved with several other clubs and such in the area, but would love to see some other HHR's that have been tinkered with

Nice to meet everyone.

Wow, you've been busy. Would love to see pics of the smoked rear tails and what you used? Spray, film?

No worries all - I plan to post up pics as soon as I have some. I'm holding off until the rim install though, then I'm going to pick a nice weather day and shoot the whole stable at once. Ride include the HHR, an Infiniti G35 sedan, a Honda 919 (motorcycle), and Suzuki VL 1500 LC bike. All fairly modified of course... Pics of the G and my last project car (an xB - don't hate me) can be found here - http://www.clubstlscion.com/forum/fo...tos.asp?madcap

The tails were sprayed. I've had issues with the overlays in the past, and thought I'd try something different.

Looks great . What kind of tint you use for the tails? Night Shades? How does it affect the lighting at night?

Wow those are dark. Hope you don't get pulled over! Of course that didn't stop me from tinting my truck windshield. I work with a guy here a work that has a XB and he's on the stl forum. Not sure of his screenname, but his name is James Fox. He's got a couple neat mods on it, but I especially love the flat black hood decal. Maybe we'll catch you at the upcoming possible bbq

The lens tint was identical to this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JDM-S...QQcmdZViewItem

It's japanese - as in no english on the labels, and no english instructions. It's easy enough to figure out though...

Can't say I know a Jones Fox offhand, but it's a pretty big group over there. I'll keep an eye out though - I'm still the site administrator / webmaster, and see them often...

The BBQ sounds cool by me, but I thought it was off? Certainly keep me posted, or I'll try and keep an eye on that thread as well.

Thanks for the comments all!
