Hey Jon...

WOW... Great lookin' black-out HHR you've got there... Glad to see another St. Louie Gateway HHR owner on here.

Nice job on the black-out mods on your ride. I'll keep an eye out for your HHR around town.

Hang Loose...

Believe it or not - really well! And since there's such a contrast between when they're on and off, they seem even more noticable that stock in the daytime. Sounds crazy, I know, but I'll take some pics this weekend if I think of it.

To everyone else - thanks for the warm welcome!

Cool, would love to see pics. Have thought about doing this but have been reluctant.

The overlay vinyl/film is good stuff, but it's very think - probably about a 32nd of an inch or so. As such, it's slightly pliable, and when heated can be stretched to get around curves on lights and such, but to go over our taillights on an HHR would not be a great option. If you can visualize it, they're shaped like an upside down bowl basically, and to get the overlay to lay down properly on the edges would be a bit of a pain. Other tail lights you can wrap it around the edge, but on ours you would run the risk of leaks and such if you wrapped it around then bolted it back onto the body.

Hope that makes sense - I'm sure it can be done with the overlay material adequately well, but the spray seemed to make more sense for this application.

I've posted in the general area before but I guess I missed the regional. Anyway I'm from St. Louis too. Loved the black HHR you have.I couldn't make up my mind between the black or the red one I got. I seen a great looking black HHR with a black interior. Oh well I can't have two. ( or can I? HMMM) :)

Hey JohnnyPatrick...

Great to see another St. Louie HHR owner here on the boards...

Wow.. I'm starting to thing we're getting enough St. Louis HHR Enthusiasts here on the boards that we might want to start a little Gateway HHR Club to do some local meet and greets this summer... No dues... Just cruise...

GDZHHR, his wife Bonnie, my fiance and myself were thinking about heading up to one of the local Chuck-A-Burger diners here in St. Louis in the next month or so just to hang out and talk HHR stuff at a fun nostalgic location... Maybe we can get a bunch of us local HHRs together and fill up the parking lot...

When we set a date... we'll have to post it here on the forums to see what kind of turnout we can get.

Hang Loose...
