Winter Run
I got the long distance trophies, the goodie bags and a few small door prize bags loaded, gotta' get some film since I am going to shoot the Nikon that is smarter than me again...the same camera that went into error mode last year and made me miss pictures of all of the VooDoo Kings low rats...
I have 20 goodie bags put together so if any of you don't have any Saturday plans, come join us ...it is less than 10 hours before we leave Peoria...Yippeee!

Well my HHR sure as hell isnt CLEAN. Cripes, I drove through a damn blizzard last night with a temp of -1, and cars careening off the road. Yep thats right... I have 1,100+ miles of "road grime" proudly displayed on my HHR.... haha But I made it here to Chicago, so I will see you all in the morning.

Okay here we go...who is going to get the traveling Long Distance trophy for Mid-American club members ??? Peoria, Green Valley...we haven't heard much from my great friend in Superior Wisconsin...Pizza, it has been a while since you rolled over here from Indiana to pick up a long distance trophy, where are you brother ?
Maybe we can get a long distance trophy for non-club members, because we are hoping to see some of our friends from quite a distance away...what do you say there TSCToy, we miss you guys and Bisho are you coming west again my friend?, Iceman, any of you guys from Minnesota feel like running south?
We will toss in a goodie bag and a 50/50 drawing, just for giggles...

Man, what another great time !!! The day started good, Stick (Doug and Stephanie) and 1Panel (Kendal) were right on time and we rolled north. I felt that is was going to be a great day so I decided that Don (father57) should not be allowed to stay home...I bugged him until he realized that it was go along or have me hound him via cell phone all day...We picked up Don and Jeremy and boogied off towards Peru to catch up with Oldschool and Breez (Tony and Sabrina). We made excellent time heading to Chicago, (never cut Panel off, he will smoke you if you do, just ask the guy in the pick-up truck on I-80)...We rolled into Navy Pier and were actually a couple of minutes early !!! Rudy (Z-Man) Julie and Alex (Z-Gurl and friend) were right on time and we hung out watching some guy juggle stuff while we waited for Chris (Novadiecast) and Mark (RudeInc). It is always great to have a car show to go to and realize that the people I consider as my best friends are there to enjoy it with...
Then it was off to the World of Wheels. The show seemed to be better than last year, it could just be that I was very ready for a car show, but it seemed to have a better number of cars and much higher quality than last year. I think I shot over 100 pictures and I know that Jeremy shot closer to 150, so soon there will be plenty of pictures for all to see...We found bisho1p (Paul) and our group was together...We definitely missed all of you who couldn't join us...After about 3 1/2 hours at the show we decided to go back to Navy Pier for chow and more hanging out.
The people at Capri's restaurant took nice care of us and it wasn't overly crowed so we could sit and talk, catching up and finding out about our new people...Great Cafe' mochas too !!! We then walked around Navy Pier, watched a three hundred pound juggler on a unicycle, (Hey, the juggler made that comment, I am only reporting on it...) and then we took pictures with "Bob the Builder" my kids are older so I didn't know who he was, but it's cool, he didn't know me either...We went outside took a few pictures and then went back through the atrium...(after someone let us in because we were locked out...). It was finally time to go so we passed out goodie bags, a few door prizes, gave Panel the club traveling long distance trophy and Bisho1p a trophy for his roughly 1200 mile one way drive (about 26 hours, that is a dude that you can depend on to come to a run!!!) and headed off towards our homes...
I would like to thank everyone for making it a great day and I can't wait to see everyone
again !!!
I will have my pics developed soon, because like Panel I prefer film and SLR too...
