Frankenmuth meet

I think a saturday in August would be good. Once we have a firm date and a rough headcount let me know. My Aunt works at the Bavarian Inn, hosting and organizing parties and events, so maybe can can set up a dinner or something. Might be too pricey though.

agreed, the bavarian and zenders can get pricey fast (as with anything in frankenmuth)

I always enjoy Tiffany's down the street. Often packed, but their pasta pizzas are amazing. Brewery has reopened but was extremely pricey when I looked at it. Black forest is good, slightly pricey.

Is that old 50's style diner still open on the way into town? haven't been there in forever but for some reason my mind says it is closed.

Tiffany's would depend on the number of people. More than 5 or 6 and it probably won't work...they don't have any room there. As far as Bavarian Inn or Zehnder's, yes it's pricey... Around $20 per person I believe...I don't go there so I don't know. In the basement of Zehnder's they have Z Cafe which is a cheap version, with a buffet line that you go through (but it's not a buffet) for normal prices.

As for the Brewery, no thanks! Overpriced, overcooked bland food. Also, I don't like them because they flat out lied on a coupon. It said half off pizza. When I went to use it, she said it was buy one get one half off. It said that no where on the coupon. So that's a no.

As for the diner, I can't tell if it's open. There are usually 2 cars there (like workers?) but I only really go by it during the week. I'll know for sure once summer rolls around. That might be something to do on a Friday night since they have (if they're still open) a car show each Friday. And it's usually busy for that! Right across the road is a big mini golf place too. (Hard to say if that'll reopen or not since it's for sale. Last year it was open, year before not.

Really, IMO, there aren't any good restaurants in Frankenmuth. Lucky's Steak House is in Clio (about 15 miles south) and that's really good! (You should know that place Josh!) I'd recommend them too. Birch Run has some of the usual, Uno's, Applebee's, Tony's (which people say is good, but I've never eaten there before).

And depending on how adventurous we get, we could even go to Crossroads Village? (Ok, so you guys probably wouldn't want to, but I love that place!) It's about 25 minutes away.

Ok sorry, I'm getting a little overboard. I'm excited!

I didn't know they had a Lucky's in Clio! I just looked it up to make sure it is the same place (holy crap they have a lot of locations now, plus Senior Luckys in Davison and the Blind Fish in lapeer). I LOVE the Lucky's in Davison. One of my favorite stops when I am home. Amazing bread, french dip is out of this world. Ha... So yes...I do know of Luckys...

The Z cafe is alright, I prefer the Rooster Cafe that used to be down there back in the day. Zcafe doesn't give off the vibe to hang out with a bunch of rowdy car guys.

I agree on Tiffanys. Big groups are hard. We have done 6 and that was a pain, but it was right around x-mas etc. Great Pizza though.

Haven't been to the brewery since they reopened. I stopped in to grab a growler refill and I had forgotten mine, they only had fancy growlers and wanted like $35 for a full one (and a growler at regular places is like 10-15 new and full). I walked out. I prefer the beer over at black forest anyways.

I really am going to have to come up for this one. too close to home not too, just gotta see how many vacation days I have left. I usually have a few leftover (they reset in September) so I use them up taking long weekends.

Well, that's why I wanted to throw this out there early enough so hopefully people can maybe plan for this.

I'm thinking for the probably the last weekend/Saturday in August looks like it might work so far...

I would say maybe a bit before that. Since labor day is the next weekend, and people usually have travel plans for that particular weekend, so they might not want to to do 2 trips in 2 weekends. Just a thought.
