The Trademark Wave

Took a road trip over into Ohio yesterday with the HHr and couldn't get over how many I met on the hwy.; now that I apparently have a heightened awarness of their presence.

Uh..is there a trademark wave (similar to kool motorcycle riders) between forum members that I should be ever ready to present?

Ahhhh....heck, never mind. But if you do see a 2009 freedom red panel with a Rat Fink decal on the rear door, that could be me.

No one ever waves back at me so I've given up. I guess I don't know the trademark wave either.

Its been discussed here in the past, and the general consensus is that its so hard to see into an HHR coming at you, you can wave your brains out and the other people wouldn't see you.

If I've got my window down and see another HHR I'll give them a wave, about half the time they wave back if their window is down.

Start giving them the one finger salute, that should get a reaction.

I did that this morning, told a fine young lady in an H2 Hummer that I really appreciated how well she maneuvered that bright yellow tank directly into my lane all the while allowing me exactly 1/32 of an inch clearance. You know those "Auto Down" driver's windows have probably saved me $5,000 in new glass and medical bills in the past five years alone.

About a year and a half ago I did wave at one local guy here in town, Older guy (mid to late 70's ish ???) he has a black HHR 2LT very similar to mine. He was about to pull out from a stop sign on to the main drag and I was turning into the street he was pulling out of. He did briefly begin to wave but then realized the person he was waving at had long hair, a beard and was listening to that "Danged Rock and Roll Music" real loud....

I had never realized that a wave can be recalled until that moment in time.

Greybeard, dats funny man..

Local tattoo shop has an LS Panel w/shop logo on the sides. We exchange waves regularly..

In a Panel, you have to wave with yer hand very close to the windshield for on coming to see a hand waving.. It's a cave in here, I tell ya..

Ummm....Sam. Paddy and The Spousemobile = no sunroof. Boo Boo = sunroof.

I had Paddy, and I think that with the combination of my Cadillac triple tone horns and the single digit salute, she knew I was there judging by her sudden return to the proper lane.
