CGS Axle Back Exhaust
I added the CGS Axle back exhaust this past weekend to my 2.2 LT.

Overall it's just the CGS muffler with a specifically designed install kit for the HHR. So at $285 I probably should have just spent the extra $200 and got a cat back. With that being said, the product is very nicely made. Stainless muffler and the install kit worked nicely. The only mod I had to make was to buy a longer rubber hanger to keep it from rattling at low RPMs.
I will post a link later for a video of sound which I think is nice but is a bit on the loud side.

Just the muffler and the tip. The other pieces are just standard exhaust piping to attach it to the existing exhaust where you cut off the oem muffler and an extension to attach the tip. More or less just a custom fit muffler so you can 'DIY' install.

Any sound clips??
Since this car came out of warrentee I thought bout changing the exhaust too but curious as in essence I can and do have access to equipment to make my own and almost think about using a muffler not designed for the HHR such as a Borla XR-1 or some sort of chambered set up.
The creative juices are flowing.
As for the CGS kit, from the header to muffler, do they increase the diameter of the exhaust piping??

The CGS is just a Muffler w/ Tip and a adapter piece that mates the muffler to your stock exhuast at the point behind the rear axle, hince an axle back! Kind of expensive at $285.00 list for what you get, IMHO .....

Decent muffler and tip, but it would be cheaper to get a Magnaflow or Flowmaster and tip. I have had mine for 2 years, great sound and minor power increase, mileage seems better too. But as i said above, if i had to do it over again i would just get the Magnaflow and tip, then use the left over cash to price out a cat back section.
