Removing the SS Exhaust tip?

Since I added a catless downpipe, my bright shiny tip has been hidden under the rear fascia. It discolors my silver SS pretty bad around the opening. I like the look of the stock tip and would like to reuse it. I plan on pulling the exhaust off tomorrow to see what I can do. I only need to move it 3/4 to 1 inch back to be in the stock location. Is there any way to get it off without destroying it?

Thanks,

Dave

Cut it, and have a extender welded in.

Are you going to do an aftermarket exhaust?

Good muffler shop in your area, should be able to fix you right up, and probably fairly cheaply. "Moon"

Just a thought here, but if you're getting bad discoloration on the rear fascia since changing the downpipe, have you considered that you might be running too rich. Removing the cat changed the back pressure in the exhaust which should be compensated for by the ECM, but you might need to have it reflashed in order to eliminate the rich mixture.

It's a result of the direct injection on the LNF not running to rich.

I was told it's a SS thing since I hung the tips out I only get it on the tips but the metal polish I got from Griots for the wheels and a pinch of clay bar cleans them up nice! It helps a lot with the brake dust too.
