Custom Air-Box Lids
Here is a test cut for NAZGUL, I apparently missed a little line somewhere(bottom left corner) so I will re-cut this one, before sending it out. The horse is amazingly detailed, and the lack of detail for the ringwraith is very fitting for its nature.
Once on the car, the Skull lid really looks good, so its off to the parts store for some red LED's. I was gonna try and rush to get the LED done for tonight. But I can relax a bit since it is raining, and the track will likely be closed. so later I hope to have posted a lit picture and then I'll showcase this babyfor the car show tomorrow.

Eh, thought these 80% brighter LED's would do the trick, I will see how it looks at night, but I am not impressed, Breadfan(Metallica fan by chance? one of their better songs btw) I think your right, I will either diffuse then tint or just re-cut in some translucent Red.
Not happy with lighting result, these are just too bright and I could use another 1' or so.
Ordered tons of stuff, wont be here till next week.
Kinda cool though, I ran into three guys at Autozone who all go to the track, all buying LED's. 2 hyabusa riders, and a Nova owner.

I like Metallica and their cover of the Budgie song 'Breadfan'. My nick refers to the meaning rather than the band. Breadfan = Person who likes money. I ran the LEDs pointed off angle at the lid from the front of the box when I tried similar. LEDs are too directional. You have to edge light if you want it diffuse. This is why tint occurred to me.

The trick iis to hide the LED along the edge and let the light run 'thru' the glass so the cuts are what lights up, the uncut portion will not show anything....much like fiber optics. maybe conside edging th plate and hiding the lights inside, sandwichd...if you run them under they glare and take away the details..
