Exhaust Choice

I am looking to change the exhaust on my wifes 2009 HHR. I have found a catback kit from Magnaflow and one from Flowmaster.

The Magnaflow is stainless all the way back and the Flowmaster is just the aluminized pipe and painted muffler.

Neither manufacturer has a audio clip of what they sound like.

Has anyone heard either system before? I'm trying to stay away from the fart can you hear on all the honda's.

Also looking to add K&N intake system, but they only list it for the 2.4L and not the 2.2L for my year. List it for the 2010 2.2L though.

Any help would be useful.

We have a Magnaflow system on the '06 driven by my wife, the sound is aggressive without sounding too "fart canny". I have the GMPP exhaust on my '07 and '11, to me it sounds a bit better because the sound is pitched half an octave lower so its more of a rumble.

To me, Flowmaster systems sound kinda tinny and cheap with overtones of "fart can", but everyone hears things differently.

I have the magnaflow on my 06 not too loud, with some resonance in the interior-this is something that is going to be prevalent no matter what system. Whether you can stand the level of resonance or not will determine if the use of an aftermarket system will be long term or short term.

I love the sound of flowmasters on V8 power vehicles, but have never heard a flowmaster system on a 4 cylinder

audio clips won't do any system justice, I think you need to find someone with either system to make your decision.
