Red face Flowmaster 80

Well, with the time off for my leg I finally got around to makin a sound video, it's kinda crappy as far as my camera-man to be honest but it gives you a good idea for those interested.

I have an 06 1Lt with a 2.2 and a five speed. The exhaust i put together is 2.25" cat to muffler, muffler is 2.5" single in dual out, the 80 series is a transverse muffler designed for cars like the 90's W-bodies like the camaro and firebirds. I have it mounted across the dimple in the spare-well. There's no resonator and I got the precise sound i was lookin for with exception of it bein a bit raspy when it's not under a load. I did cut the bumper for a dual exit, and I've got it dualled but as I said before my camera-man, well I don't pay him too much, so I'll have to get some pictures and some better film when I get the Ex-Fix removed from my leg.

And here is the link, as long as it works, I'm not real good at this.

Add a resonator and jbp header and it will sound 1 million times better. I couldn't watch the whole video.

lol, I actually want to cut my tips off and run a couple of the tipped mufflers like flowmasters boomers or even a couple of borla's, def. want to get a header and down-pipe in the near future

I found on my last car (sc2 saturn), that a thrush glass pack worked exceptionally well as a resonator. Deepened the tone. I was wondering what a flowmaster would sound like on a HHR...

Just needs that extra something like a resonator, it'll smooth out the high and low end frequencies and give you a nice bark without the buzzing crackle.

That is F-Bodies

But I do like your idea, using a muffler like that. When mine rots It is going to get something cool. Maybe a Borla XR-1

I most likely would have to go down on pipe size, or just make a whole new system and enlarge.

Well I stand corrected, lol, it seemed off when I typed but i was already up and running so i went with it lol. And I agree, gotta get a resonator, that buzz drives me nuts, it's mostly gone under a load though, i had to ditch that stock res. though, i wanted the larger pipe, all in good time i guess

And yet another correction, the boomer series is a borla, not sure what i took that night, maybe my pain meds modified my perception, I can't think of any other good excuses
