I used the hood insulation to cover the mounting, but it was like this using 1/2" aluminum strip drilled and bolted to the studs on the vent with 3m double sided tape with adhesive acitvator on the top edge

Really cool and solid work! Will the drain pan clear, so you can install that later too?

The drain pan is designed to bolt to flanges on the camaro hood. I haven't engineered it yet, or decided if I will. It really defeats the vent effect, and it's cool to be able to see through it. My car is a weekend toy that doesn't get in the rain intentionally. I put a roll of wide masking tape in the bin, so if I have to. I could tape off the backside to get home.

I really like this I already bought the part to do it to mine. Hope you don’t mind. What did you use to cut the hood?

I’m next in line for one. Got lucky last weekend with the same color hood from the junk yard for $67 mint. Car was just put out. Extractor and drip tray from eBay. The extractor by itself cost more than the hood....geez.....

Is it just the grille that is different on SS or is the hood different also.

Seems i remember some one leaving the SS grille full length
while cutting a slot for it to slide down past on a LS/LT bumper.
Don't know where the post any more.
