ABS chrome door handle covers

Hello all:

Toying with buying a set of these. Anyone in here do this? If so---how does the abs hold up over time; how well is the fit; and who has the best price!

thx and peace

I'm not sure Spotty, but I think the OEM handles are ABS. So I guess it just depends on how well the replacements are made.

All I ever see are the chrome covers. Wish they made black ones so I could cover my stock chrome handles.

If they use salt on your roads in the winter be sure to wax and keep them clean. A friend of mine didn't and they got pitted. Bassbase I would think you could prep and paint those chrome ABS covers and make your chrome handles disappear..

I'm not sure watch color match you need, but I used Krylon Fusion to paint my bowtie black (on HHR and Silverado), and my HHR wheelcovers white. After 1000 miles still perfect. Little prep on ABS, maybe scuffing required on chrome.

Your stock door handles are a glass-filled nylon, as are just about all recent automotive door handles. I used to work for a company that made most of them back in the '90s for GM.

ABS is cheaper, but it's much more brittle, especially in cold. An ABS cover may work, but you absolutely wouldn't want one for a handle. They'd be breaking off all the time.
