Aftermarket headlight adjustment

Hi, recently I installed some aftermarket headlights with black housing, looks great. The lights need to be adjusted down (people warn me constantly by blinking theirs) . The oem headlights could be adjusted from inside the car with a leveling switch. Is there a way to lower the beams ?

If you mean the 6mm adjuster screws that you access from the inner fender panels , they should be the same as your OEM

The round white nylon disc is the adjuster.

If you mean hi or low beam your left multi switch changes them

The circumscribed piece is placed nearest to the grill, it has an electric connector. On my dashboard low left, there is a sort of leveling switch

If you look through the photos in the CarID site you can see the difference in an HHR North American headlight assembly and the one in your photo

Definitely not OEM. Maybe you had HID lights from either the Euro import or the previous owner?

The OP's pic (turned 90 degrees). And a pic from the link Oldblue posted.

Does the high beam/low beam switch work the same as the Owner Manual describes? I'm wondering if the Euro headlight laws are way different from USA. I know there is a standard that the right headlight gets adjusted further to the right than ours, and high beams are reserved for countryside driving only.

BTW, the red gasket is the one that makes it impossible to install a new bulb. Remove it before you try to install new bulb.

The adjuster on the driver’s side headlight

In the red circle the adjuster is still there! This appears to be the passenger side. I’m not sure how the motor is connected to adjust the head light.

My guess is it is a high/low adjustment instead of 2 elements in 1 bulb.

Think the headlights were adjusted for Dutch regulations, the leveling switch on the dash is described in the owners manual
