AVS squeak

I got my AVS yesterday, WeatherTech 82413 dark. Installation took about an hour because I ran into some issues. The back ones went on fine.

The front ones each made a loud crack the first time I put the windows up. This was the sound of a piece of the channel flange breaking off, but I never found the pieces. Once I took them out and reseated them, they seemed happy, however there is still a squeak when the front passenger window is operated.

Has anyone ever put felt tape on them to minimize this?

Give them a little while and a few window operations. That squeak will probably go away after awhile. I installed some WeatherTechs in early December. At this point when I put the window up it just sounds like a snug fit, no squeak.

That window already got a 1/2" scratch at the top from the first time I put in the shade. I'm not keen on having scratches along the front edge too.

Hmmmmm...Are you sure they are seated all the way? How much of the flange broke off? Is it keeping the visor from fitting tightly?

The pieces that broke off weren't very big, 1 1/2" long and about half as wide as the flange.

After taking them out 6 times, I think I got the hang of how to seat them. Some day soon when there's not metric tons of dirt in the air I'll take them out again and use a can of compressed air to clean out the channels.

That may be your best bet. Did yours have the double sided tape on one side of the flange? I was surprise when I opened the package and there was tape.

The back ones had tape, but not the fronts.
