Carbon SS Spoiler

Hey guys,

I've been lurking for a little while on the forums, but haven't said much yet. I'm still soaking up and much information as I can.

I did have a question for you guys though. I recently pulled to spoiler off of my 08 HHR SS so that I can make a carbon fiber one. I'm hoping to have the mold completed before the end of this month.

Would anyone be interested in a carbon factory SS spoiler? I can also make plain fiberglass ones as well. This idea never really dawned on me until someone at worked asked if I could make something for them.

And by carbon fiber I mean carbon fiber....not the vinyl stuff over plastic or fiber glass with an outer layer of carbon. I've made several bicycle parts out of carbon fiber and I currently make UAV parts for my actual day job. Just curious to see what you guys think. I've attached some of my previous work for fun.

Pretty sure you'll have to become a vendor here if you want to sell these.

It would probably around $250-$275 with a clear coat finish over the carbon. One made out of fiberglass would be cheaper. That's a rough estimate off the top of my head. If I'm not mistaken the factory is $199 in primer gray correct?

I sent a message to the web admin about becoming a vendor if I do want to sell them. I don't want to ruffle any feathers or break the rules. Just wanted to test the waters since I'm making one for myself.

I'd also be interested in a carbon fiber or fiberglass SS style spoiler. I dislike the hoop style immensely.

Lund used to make spoilers years ago out of the polycarbonate - or the smoked plastic like the vent-visors. Had one on a 90 Chev Lumina minivan and loved it.

I'm waiting for someone to put a hoop spoiler on an SS , I like that style better than the one on my last two rides.
