I know I had posted some info somewhere on here, I sent you a link to my install thread but that was more heres how it looks installed.

I bought a second oem chrome grille for cutting up. You can see how it's cut looking at the pics closely.

As far as cutting/bending the billet grill it was alot of trial an error test fitting. Mine I had to cut 2 of the bottom billet bars off. The outter edges must be shaved way back at an angle to fit. And as you can see in that first pic in your post, I had to lock it down and give it some bending and twisting to get a nice fit.

Hers a few more pics to show some details. They are posted on the forum someplace but here they are. Hope it helps.

And Thanks, John who did his First this way was very helpful answering my questions when I asked. I liked the billet grills, but not the way they looked bare edged on our HHR's this way looks more 'finished" to me at least.

hey speedwagen, are you a painter? it came out sooo nice! I painted my 3 bar last week and it turned out ok but it has little bubbles and dust things stuck to it, i tried buffing it out and now the shine has dulled...i might have to do it all over again from scratch..how did you do yours so nicely

that might work, I hadn't thought of it. Have some projectors coming for the short bus. The panel will be getting the fall editions with 5k hid and switchback markers. So I was thinking of switching all the 2LT chrome to the black chrome. But a sweet 3 bar with the flags would be sweet, maght have to throw the hood on the panel.

I do paint once in a while, but mostly motorcycle parts, but the grille was done by some friends at the body shop. Try some liquid polishing compound or some metal polish to bring your gloss back. I have brought some nasty paint back to life using this trick. Put some clear coat on and polish it up also.

Good Luck!,,,put up some pics!
