I have to agree with most everyone hear
I would Not drill it on unless you plan on keeping it for a long long time
3m good tape or the 8609 urethane would and should hold
Alot of the roofs on new cars are actually glued on
I also agree with 843de and others the cowl induction scoop always looks best to me
other than a blower scoop sticking out of course
The cowl could be made to be functional most people do find it hard to believe that the cowl scoop actually works with pressurse off of the windshield

im considering doing a functional cowl induction hood using the same scoop reversed, but I dont think it would be close enough to the windshield to help performance.
I would also like to see a pic of the underside if possible.

Reversing problem...

The problem with reversing the slp hood that i have is that our hood
isn't flat it goes to a point in the center, you would have to do so serious shaving to make it lay flat, Im running into that problem right now when i add the front grill it comes with needs to be shaved down to be flush with the hood.

Thanks for the tips... And it does have a black grill just not added in that photo it slips into the hood in front. And the hood is designed with ressesed 3m tape areas so they are hidden from view, i like that feature no 3m showing.

Hey Jeff, so it has a grill insert that will let air in? If so you might consider backing it with something to close off the opening? Personally I would try to stay away from something that grabs air but has no escape .....

Yeah it might add a touch of drag, but middle of the hood is a low pressure area close to the shoot metal, so the drag wouldn't bother me as much as the amount of dirt and crap that will get in there over time.

So I'd back the mesh up with something solid too.

Jeff, for the dollars you have spent thus far..in my own opinion I would do this properly..crack out some filler and sandpaper...mold that scoop on nice like in the pic...problem with 3m scoops to me is that they look like an after thought..just kinda stuck there..if your into showing and I know you are...go the extra mile..paints not that priceyand its only the hood..not much area to cover..in the end I think you would more pleased with the finished result..it will take ya longer to paint than it will to mould this nice to the hood..very little effort involved
