Duraflex Side Skirt Installation advice?
Duraflex Side Skirt Installation advice?
I bought some Duraflex side skirts for my 07 hhr. Can anyone offer some advise on installation. They seem to slide over the OEM panels and if they don't go right over, how are they supported? There are no body clip places inside the skirts. Any advice or experience is appreciated.
NOTE: When gently slid over the OE panels, they seem to fit and only touch the bottom of the doors very slightly.
Thanks. David

Then if you still have questions your best bet would be to contact Duraflex.

Thanks for the reply. I read the Duraflex site and have determined that their side skirts are nothing but junk and have decided to toss them in a dumpster tomorrow and keep the rocker panels from the factory. The side skirts were sold as bolt ons with a high gloss black gelcoat finish. Not even close. I did email them back and forth, but all I got was a waste of time. Live and learn.
I got the side skirts to work. It took a lot of trimming and some framing. The way I did it was to buy two 4 ft x 3/4” Aluminum angle pieces. I tried to bolt the to the step bolt locations already installed. They were too high, so I predrilled each angle and backed it with 3M double sided molding tape. The 3/4 fits perfectly along the frame line and allows door clearance room. I mounted the angle with tape only to get it straight and then drilled into the frame/body and screwed it down. This is the support for the middle 4 feet. The outside was easy and the middle was attached to the angles with 3M tape and then screwed down on each end for safety. I painted with spray cans and the finish is good (clear coat over black) but my brother is a paint and body man, so he’ll paint the whole car later this year.
I still wouldn’t recommend this product. They sent some end pieces and there isn’t any way those would ever fit.
