Front window tint

After researching PA DOT laws and receiving various answers, I've decided to get my front windows tinted to match the back. Surprising how something that simple can make a big difference in the cars appearance!

Since PA winters can be dreadful, I keep my stock 16" on it from November/March. Can't wait to see how she looks with the chrome 17" during the spring/summer!

I went over there to check it out briefly. Both states I looked at said windshield tint could be above the manufacturer's AS1 line. I know I've seen that on glass before, but where is it on our windshields?

It should/might be on the passenger side about 5 inches from the top. But I think GM doesn't do it on the "el cheapo" cars. My '06 does NOT have it. But my other GM vehicles do.

I would think that if laws in multiple states reference it, the AS1 line has to appear on all models.

I looked again, but still don't see it.

EDIT: a 2003 CTS has an AS1 line, but a 2003 F150 does not. The plot thickens.

My AS-1 line is on the pass side (as Snoopy stated), but my windshield has been replaced with a PPG one.

So not sure if the oem had one ?

& I just went out & measured, AS-1 line is 7-1/8" down from top edge of my windshield (pass side)..

That's the same site I used. I got it done at Arizona Designs in South Jersey and as soon as they finished the guy turned and said "Good thing your car is registered for PA because NJ cops would stop you and slap you with a $50 fine every time they see you."

Tinting the front side windows is illegal in Michigan.
