Grey or Black?

My Golden Teal HHR has piece of decorative plastic installed on the front, between the "grilles". It has either faded from the original black or it has always been grey. In either case, I think it would look better in satin black. Anyone had any luck with the "Fusion" paints from Rust-O-Leum, which are supposed to bond better to plastic?

I used the Fusion paint on my old Dodge truck. Good prep and painted all the plastic parts on the frontal area and the 2 outside mirrors with a gloss black. It didn't hold up very long. The paint faded to a dull black within a year. During "love bug" season, everywhere that one of those bugs hit the paint it peeled off that spot.

Thanks, G.

I shall try a "normal" satin black. I was concerned about "bug strikes"; your post indicates I was correct.

Doesn’t Krylon have a plastic spec rattle can paint? That’s also Fusion

I had my bumper covers painted and he simply added a flex agent to the spray gun mixture of body colour paint.
He forgot to paint that piece behind the license plate bracket.

Haven't tried to remove that grey plastic yet. How do you do it? (BTW, Old Blue, thanks for fixing my password problem).

Resurrection of an older post, but I put some 3M carbon fiber vinyl on mine, and its held up for 3 years now
It really looks good in my opinion, a cheap "make it better than new"
