Grill Kit Won't Fit

Hello,

I have a 2009 LS Panel. I bought a billet grill - upper and lower. The upper fits fine, but the lower doesn't. If I leave it loose, it looks right, but I'm afraid it will one day fall off. When I tighten it up, it rotates bottom in towards the vehicle and looks terrible; not to mention will probably fall off too. Has anybody encountered/solved this?

In this pic you can see the lower grill section starting to rotate bottom toward the vehicle - clockwise in this photo.

You should never grill in or on the vehicle. It's bad for it.

Suggestion. Maybe trim a little off the end or give it a sanding.

Here's the "Billet Grille" thread for you Minivan, click the link below and then check out post #37, the lower sections are kind of fiddly to fit...you may need to bend it a bit or trim some off the ends.

Bottom line is that you should send it back. You should not have to "modify" a new part to fit your vehicle.

That is a HUGE problem with the aftermarket today. People keep giving their hard earned money to vendors and manufacturers, even though they are putting out inferior parts.

If people keep buying them, what incentive is it for a manufacturer to take the time to make the parts correctly? Why spend your money to replace a perfectly fitting stock part, with something that fits worse? How does that improve your vehicle?

Seriously... think about that

I don't believe in buying an inferior part "because there are no other options", eventhough that seems to be the accepted norm these days. There is always a better option and that is keeping the properly fitting FACTORY part on the car, until the aftermarket makes one that fits correctly!

Sorry that this turned into a bit of a rant, but why do people keep accepting stuff like this?

Going back to the old "Billet Grille" thread, there seems to be a high probability that these grills will get distorted in shipping.

I'm betting that MiniVan's grille is tweaked just enough that it is fractionally too long to fit properly, I'd bet that a quick bend over his knee would bring it back to the proper shape and fit.
