HHR SS Headlights

Are the SS headlights the same as the standard headlights?
How do you go about putting halos and HID's in the Depo's
Does anyone have Part numbers?

They are the same headlights. As far as conversion can't help you as I haven't done it.

You have to separate the lens from the rest of the housing. Some people have had some (not much) luck with separating the stock units in an oven to soften the adhesive. Do a search for "headlight oven".

SS are the same. Only GM ones that are different are the black chrome that came on special edition hhrs.
The depots have a softer adhesive, Id recommend them for doing a retrofit.
There isnt a lot of info on these forums about retros, only a couple have done it.

I have done a retro to my stock headlights and let me tell you, it was NOT easy baking the OEM ones open. I highly suggest you retro a set of DEPO's. I have another retro project on a pair of DEPO's that only took me about 10min to open and cleanup.

Here are a couple of reference pages for the easiest way to retro your headlights:

Morimoto Mini H1 kit: (RECOMMENDED)

Morimoto Mini D2S kit:

And a reference to these kit installations:

If you have any questions about bulbs, mounting, etc., feel free to PM me!

So I got my Depo's in the mail yesterday. I was able to use the oven, and get them apart. (Very easily I might add) Now I'm waiting for my Morimoto H1 kit with Halo's to come in the mail. (Backordered) That's OK, I'm taking my time

There are some vids on youtube where some headlights need to be pulled apart to install halos/projectors...ect… Pretty simple, just time consuming with labor. Seems too much for "looks" Id rather go the easy route and get brighter bulbs
