HID Kit from DDM Tuning
#22
I have ordered from DDM in the past and everything was great. Recently, I have had the worst experience trying to get HID's through them. Long story short, they sent me cheap chinese crap and took their sweet time sending me the "good stuff" back. It has now been a month since I ordered them and I still don't have anything to show for it. I will NEVER be ordering from them again. Also, there customer service has gone down hill as well.

Thinking about ordering a set of 8000k 55w bulbs at some point...do they cause any issues with daytime running lights and the auto on/off sensor? I almost always turn my DRL's (and therefore the auto-on headlights) off the minute I start the car, unless I forget. Just wanted to make sure that still works.

I thought about having my headlamp power feed trip a relay that switches the lamps on at full power no matter what (Hi/Lo, DRLs). This way, the main power source would be from the battery and the probability of an issue with too insufficient wire gauge can be avoided.
Once I dug in, I really didn't care. I tripped my fogs (also HIDs) off of the front driver side marker lamp and pulled the DRL fuse. Now, I can turn on my fogs independently of my headlamps and have the rest of the lamps illuminated around the vehicle (tails, markers, etc).
I programmed my BCM and have the proper switch and relay installed, but for some reason there was a mishap with my PCM that resulted in a no-start situation and a trip to the dealership. When I took it apart, I noticed one of the dowel screws had actually removed itself from the post. My only idea as to what happened was that me pressing it in ruined the actual unit inside.

Ordered a set of 55W 8000k hi/los last week. Just got the confirmation today, they're being shipped from China. Is this going to be a mess where I have to chew them out to send me the "good" stuff? Or do they normally ship from China?

China or not, the kits are of descent quality. I've had 3 kits personally as well as installed over 5 other kits among my friends. There was only one failure and that was due to a leak in the plug on the ballast which allowed water into the connection. Use dialectic grease and you won't have such a problem. I always use the grease on any external connection that may be exposed to the elements, but this time I wasn't at my own place installing my own kit.
vvme.com is another good one.
4500k looks sexy.
